To be held from August 20th, the 12th Season in Overwatch 2 will bring about a lot of exciting, new content. Fresh from the end of Season 11, Blizzard Entertainment has released a trailer with diversified new content expected in the new season: a new Support hero called Juno, new game modes, and lots of fancy skin updates.
One of the new standout additions this season is the Mythic Skin. This one is for Reaper, and his style variant takes inspirations from Anubis. This skin promises a divine and menacing look for Reaper and is for those who like making a deadly statement on the battlefield.
That will be accompanied by the release of the game mode as an official game mode, Clash, and the uses of two maps: the Hanaoka, inspired by Hanamura, and Throne of Anubis, reflecting the classic Temple of Anubis.
With up to 80 Mythic Prisms among its other rewards, the premium Battle Pass impresses with its Legendary skins for heroes such as Doomfist, Ana, Illari, Ashe, and Sigma. That, in fact, is splendid content for both new and long-time Overwatch players.
Competitive play will also go through some big changes this season, most notably a rank reset so that everyone gets the reset they deserve. Developers are also going forward with an improved "Avoid as Teammate" feature to ensure higher-quality matches and implementing Group Respawn in Quick Play to ensure more coordinated and strategic gameplay.
Additionally, a lot of community favorite reprises such as MirrorWatch and April Fools. However, this has to be the most interesting of the teasers: the one-world setting of the Lich King collaboration with Warcraft.
Overwatch 2 is available on all major platforms like Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. With the amount of content, Season 12 is set to be one of the most content-saturated seasons yet, tailored for every kind of player looking for something in their niche.
