During the Xbox Developer Direct which aired last night for us European folks, Obsidian Entertainment gave players a fresh look at their upcoming fantasy RPG Avowed, which is set to launch in Autumn later this year. The team dived into details like combat, quests and various biomes of the world called Living Lands.
The team also promised to share more in the coming months but before that, Obsidian will talk about Avowed again next Monday, January 22, 2024. Some Avowed dev team members will be guests at the official Xbox podcast in an exclusive interview where they will share even more info about this highly-anticipated Xbox exclusive.
"Make sure to tune in to the Xbox Podcast on Monday, January 22 for an exclusive interview with some of Obsidian’s developers, offering even more information on the gameplay reveal," Xbox stated in the official Avowed information box on their press website.
This certainly makes sense since we have noticed that Avowed is the only title from Developer Direct 24' that didn't get it's official news post on Xbox Wire, where developers usually provide additional details about the game.
As for what we expect to hear at the podcast, it's likely that the developers will talk about what was shown in the Developer Direct and perhaps reveal a couple of new interesting tidbits about the game but don't expect to see new gameplay or any major announcements.
All in all, it's certainly exciting that we'll get even more Avowed details early next week, as this one is shaping up to be one of our most anticipated titles of 2024. It's also great to see how the game improved from that showcase seven months ago, which makes us eager to see more, perhaps at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024.
Avowed will be coming exclusively to Xbox Series X|S and PC. It's also launching day one on Xbox Game Pass just like every other Xbox first-party title.
