Warner Bros leaked that Mortal Kombat 12 is coming in 2023 which will likely cause a few headaches around the company.

After all the valiant attempts to obscure the Mortal Kombat 12 release date by Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios , it was the executives of the parent company, Warner Bros , that leaked it.

Technically, the date is still a secret but Mortal Kombat 12 will release at some point in 2023, which is contrary to what Boon was hinting at previously.

The leak came through Warner Bros Discovery's earnings call where MK12 was mentioned alongside Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as a game "set to release this year with ambitious launch projections".

While "this year" often refers to the fiscal year in earnings calls, which may not be the same as a calendar year, it is not the case with Warner Bros. Calendar and fiscal year have the same start and end dates for the company.

NetherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat X - Mileena The next big question is whether Mileena will make an appearance

What this means for you, the regular gamer that's waiting for MK12 is that you don't need to worry about waiting another three months or so for the release - the window is not planned to spill into Q1 2024.

This year is set to be a dream for fighting game enthusiasts as all the major names have an entry - Street Fighter, Tekken and now Mortal Kombat will all have to fight over the player base at release.
