NetEase announced that Marvel Rivals will begin its Season 2.5 update on May 30, 2025, as it moves into the second half of its current season. Along with the mid-season update comes a powerful new playable character: Ultron, who stands as one of Marvel's most iconic antagonists.
The mid-season patch brings Ultron to Season 2 as the second new hero after Wolverine's addition. Ultron uses flight for mobility alongside beam attacks for ranged damage and drone support before unleashing his Ultimate ability to call an AI army.
The game balance is set to change dramatically thanks to Ultron's effectiveness both in solo play and team coordination.
Marvel Rivals can be played on PC and Xbox Series X/S as well as PlayStation 5. Upon entering the roster Ultron delivers new strategies to players during Season 2.5 which starts May 30.
Ultron’s Abilities
Ultron can fly and move through the air with full freedom to secure advantageous positions. He can attack enemies from afar with his beam attacks while his dash ability lets him move swiftly to engage or retreat.
Against close-range opponents such as Wolverine Ultron maintains control thanks to his quick movements and extended attack reach.
Ultron proves essential in group battles because his deployable drones heal teammates and provide protective shields. The personal barrier he possesses enhances survival chances while protecting him and his adjacent teammates.
Ultron's Ultimate: AI Reinforcements
Ultron's Ultimate ability brings four robotic allies into the battle to provide assistance. The summoned robots attack enemies while simultaneously providing area-of-effect healing to teammates.
The ult ability serves two functions which become particularly game-changing during control point fights or team offensive maneuvers.
