Deathloop developers Arkane Lyon could be working on a Blade video game and the announcement is allegedly scheduled for tonight's The Game Awards show. This is according to various hints and teases from trusted industry insiders on social media X and ResetEra.
First, we got a tease from Shinobi602 who hinted that Xbox will have a game reveal at The Game Awards that will make "a lot of people talk". Insider Nate then added that it's Arkane Lyon who will be revealing their new project which is not a new Dishonored or Deathloop game.
It was quickly revealed that the game could be a licensed IP which led to speculation on what this title could be. ResetEra user Biosnake then gave a hint in the form of the initials "M.A", which Xbox fans discovered to be Mahershala Ali, the main actor of the upcoming Blade movie.
Once the cat was out of the bag, insiders like Tom Henderson and ACG started posting and retweeting subtle Blade content on social media X, seemingly confirming that Arkane's new game is indeed Blade.
Obviously, you need to take all of this with a dose of scepticism since not a single trusted insider came out to specifically say Arkane is working on a Blade game. They are teasing it but no one confidently confirmed the rumour.
The good news is, we won't have to wait for months to see if this one is actually legit since The Game Awards show airs in less than 20 hours.
If the rumour is indeed true, Blade would be the first Marvel-exclusive game by Xbox. As to what the game would look like, well, since it's Arkane, our bet would be on another immersive sim. It's what the studio are known for and what they do best and the Blade franchise certainly has a lot of potential in such a genre.
