Earlier today Rumors came out that Riot had forced Carlos out of G2, This has been refuted by Peter Schmidt who is Head of Esports for League of Legends in EMEA.

One of the big League of Legends scandals this year has seen Carlos "Ocelote" Rodriguez celebrating a G2 victory with Andrew Tate, one of the most notorious people on social media. And though it's not directly tied to Riot Games , it certainly impacted everyone.

In turn, this forced Ocelote to quit his position as the CEO of G2 Esports. However, was there anyone else involved in his decision, or just the shareholders of the organization?

As rumors would have it, the blame was placed at the feet of both Riot Games and LEC, as they've supposedly had a hand in forcing Carlos "Ocelote" Rodriguez to quit his position and sell his shares in the organization.

Maximillian Peter Schmidt, who is Head of Esports for League of Legends in EMEA, has released a tweet refuting LEC having any involvement in this scandal:

"Hey everyone, I saw several false rumors regarding G2 & Carlos and wanted to clarify: "The @LEC has not requested Carlos to resign from G2 nor divest his ownership. We opened an investigation last week per our LEC rules, which is still ongoing."

The rumors, apparently, started because of a mistranslation that was blown out of proportion, with people jumping at the chance to blame RIot Games for whatever they can.
