LoL Esports - First Vietnam Team to Compete in Worlds Since 2019

The Vietnam Championship Series, aka VCS, is the name of a professional League of Legends esports league run by Riot Games and Garena. While they are not as famous as some other regions,  they have fans all around the world.

Due to the restrictions following the pandemic, the last time a team from this region competed in a League of Legends World Championship was in 201, which brought the region problems with coverage as well.

LoL Esports - KOI Has the Most Chance to Merge With Rogue

Saigon Buffalo became the first team out of the region to qualify for the 2022 World Championship, with a best-of-five victory over GAM Esports in the semifinal round of the VCS Summer Playoffs.

This will be the second time Saigon Buffalo play in the World Championship, among the other 23 best teams in the world.

League of Legends - Will Saigon Buffalo go directly to the main event?

They have, until now, had 38 games played on the international stage, making them the most experienced team to represent VCS.

The only thing that remains to be seen is if Saigon Buffalo will qualify for a direct slot of the main event of the World Championship 2022, by defeating the winner between GAM Esports and Team Secret, or if they will have to take part in the play-in stage.
