As far as the culture of League of Legends is concerned, ranked is the most important thing in the game. And Riot Games have leaned into this, by promoting ranks and investing in professional games.
Recently, players had noticed that dodging games in League of Legends ranked, whether it's SoloQ or Flex, did not reduce their LP by the usual amount.
After a post on Reddit concerning this caught the attention of a Rioter, sometime after it was posted admittedly, they said that it was not a conscious change and that it was a bug, which needs fixing.
Well, to the dismay of many players who approved of this change, the bug has since been reverted and LP penalties in regards to doing games work as intended now.
This is the second time a bug has caused a game feature to get removed, without Riot noticing it. The other instance is the removal of autofill protection system.
Unlike the LP dodging bug, however, the removal of the autofill protection system is an intended feature, just one that has gone live sooner than intended.
It would seem that Riot are going all out in ruining our ranked experience, by not only not throwing their players a bone, but actively taking the existing ones away.
