Riot's new Patch 25.S1.3 is going to change the game of League of Legends, with buffs for struggling champions, nerfs for a few that have been dominating and some key system adjustments. Here's what to expect regarding the champion buffs and nerfs, when the patch drops on February 5, 2025.
A few champions that have been on the struggle bus lately are getting some much-needed buffs: Evelynn, Jax, Kayn, Nasus, Quinn, Rakan, Samira, Swain and Thresh all receive changes to make them more viable.
Be it better scaling, extra damage, or more utility, these buffs should help them find their place in the meta.
Of course, that does include some champions having been a bit too strong, and getting tuned down. After all, nerf list includes Cassiopeia, Galio, Jayce, particularly Tank Jayce, Miss Fortune, Rell, Skarner, Teemo and Viego.
All nerfs to keep said champions in check. And if you have been spamming their strengths, well, you might want to work on that.
System updates
- Attack Speed Cap Increase - ADCs will have more flexibility in their item builds, allowing for even higher attack speeds.
- Chemtech Soul Buff - The Chemtech Dragon Soul is getting stronger to make it a more impactful game-changer.
- Domination Tree Keystones Buffed - Assassins and champions relying on these runes will benefit from their increased strength.
- Nerfs to Certain Systems - Bloodsong, Cloud Soul, Void Grubs, and Zaz'Zak's Realmspike are all being weakened to keep them from becoming too dominant.
- Champion Bounty Adjustments - Riot is tweaking the bounty system to make comebacks more balanced for teams that fall behind.
The above should create room for variety in champions and strategies; and since this keeps the game new and fresh, Patch 25.S1.3 can definitely spice things up when it drops on February 5th.
