The last top lane champion Riot Games added to League of Legends was Gwen, a top lane skirmisher. She is a far cry from what the top lane archetype is, and the new champion coming to League of Legends may fulfill it, finally.
Enter K'Sante, the new up-coming top lane bruiser that will be able to duke it out with the best of them, without the need for almost cheat-like abilities such as Gwen's W.
A few months ago, in a random Reddit thread, though, when the thought of a new top lane champion was non-existent in everyone's minds, and we were eagerly awaiting Bel'Veth's release, Riot Games talked about a new top lane champion.
They said that there are currently no League of Legends tanks with a high skill-ceiling, as every tank in the game is, at the very least, a champion whose skill-expression hits the middle tiers.
So, their goal with, what we now know is K'Sante, is to create a champion whose skill ceiling is high, even though it's a frontline tank champion, and not, well, Irelia or something similar.
This means that K'Sante's weapon Ntofos, which will form the basis of his kit, will be more complicated than what Riot would have had us believe in the recent preseason video.
