Riot Games has announced that the release of the highly anticipated Ahri ASU update has been delayed due to a recent cyber attack that the company experienced.
In the previous year, players were eagerly anticipating the announcement that League of Legends would have a large budget for 2023. However, their excitement was short-lived as Riot Games failed to reveal anything significant in their season 2023 roadmap and the cinematic they released was poorly received, leading to an apology from the company. Additionally, there were layoffs at the company and they suffered a significant cyber-attack.
As a result of the cyber attack, Riot Games has experienced significant disruptions, causing delays to their planned patches and updates, including the Comprehensive Gameplay Update for Aurelion Sol and Ahri's ASU.
Ahri's ASU has faced delays in the past, it was initially planned to be released in the middle of season 12, but due to a lack of staff and the fact that Ahri has a high number of skins, the release date was pushed back to season 13.
In the season 2023 video, Riot Games properly displayed Ahri's new visuals and announced that she would be released in patch 13.2. This news excited players who were looking forward to trying out the updated character. However, shortly after this announcement, the company suffered a cyber attack.
This incident caused significant disruptions and delays, including the delay of Ahri's ASU release, which was initially supposed to be launched with patch 13.2.
Ahri's ASU was initially supposed to be released on the live servers as part of patch 13.2, with a scheduled release date of January 26th, 2023. But due to the cyber attack that happened earlier, Riot Games has confirmed that the visual rework of Ahri will now launch on patch 13.3, which is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023.
This is a delay in the original launch date and it's causing disappointment among players who were eagerly waiting for the release of Ahri's ASU on patch 13.2. The cyber attack has caused significant disruptions and delays in the company's plans, including this much-awaited update.
