The makers of Hitman, IO Interactive, have announced the name of their James Bond title, 007 First Light. In their official press release, they have shared a teaser for the game with plans to reveal official details in the upcoming week.
The new game will reportedly be an origin story for the beloved British spy icon. While IO Interactive has teased the game's key art, they are yet to share any details about the game, which is scheduled to be revealed in the IOI Showcase on June 6, 2025.
IO Interactive’s 007 First Light to be revealed later this week
After 007 Legends, the first-person shooter title released in 2012, there have been no major James Bond games. Now after a 13-year wait, IO Interactive has revealed their new James Bond game, 007 First Light. As the name suggests, 007 First Light will be an origin story for the coveted British spy.
In a recent press release, IO Interactive revealed the game's title and shared key art showcasing the beloved MI6 spy. The key art shows the silhouette of Bond with this iconic Walther PPK pistol. It is evident that IO Interactive has taken major inspiration from Daniel Craig's Bond, as the guy in the image resembles his body language.
IO Interactive has chosen to move to their own original story for the adventures of Bond, moving away from adapting movie stories like Casino Royale and Spectre. It'll be interesting to see what direction the devs end up taking for the game. More details regarding the game will be officially revealed on June 6, 2025, at the IOI Showcase event.
Hopefully, we might end up seeing a successful title like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which is a game based on George Lucas' Indy with an original story from Machine Games.
