Sony have today announced that Guerrilla Games' action adventure Horizon Forbidden West has sold over 8.4 million units as of April 16, 2023 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Guerrilla Games' stunning open-world action-adventure Horizon Forbidden West has reached an impressive sales milestone, selling over 8.4 million units since it's launch. Sony announced the news today via an official blog post.
The publisher also provided an update on the whole Horizon franchise, revealing that Aloy's adventure has sold more than 32.7 million units worldwide since the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn . An incredible achievement, to say the least.
Guerrilla Games said that they could've never imagined such a milestone when they started making games 20 years ago and confirmed that Aloy's adventure will continue with new projects.
"As of April 16, 2023, the Horizon franchise has sold through more than 32.7 million units worldwide, of which Horizon Forbidden West has sold through over 8.4 million units.
Millions more around the world have discovered Horizon thanks to PlayStation's subscription services and initiatives, including PlayStation Plus, and Play at Home. All told, it's a milestone we never imagined possible twenty years ago when we first started making games."
We already know that there are a couple of new titles in development including an MMO project but also a full-fledged sequel to Forbidden West which is set to continue (and potentially conclude) Aloy's story.
All in all, Sony will certainly be ecstatic with the success of the Horizon franchise, which is now one of the strongest IPs in recent years.
