Prominent Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has shared on his X account the latest updates on the games that Sony is set to cancel in the wake of the recent layoff crisis that struck the industry giant last week.
A user on this social media site expressed curiosity about the future of the upcoming and arguably highly anticipated Horizon multiplayer game. In response to the inquiry, Schreier provided a succinct and unequivocal response, simply stating "no."
Despite the limited information available about the multiplayer game from Guerrilla Games, as it was only announced and hasn't been extensively covered since, initial speculations hinted at the possibility of it being among the cancelled titles. However, there is a clear indication that Sony maintains confidence in this project.
Confirmed details about this multiplayer title include its shared setting with the preceding two games, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West. Despite its nature as a multiplayer title, the game's narrative, albeit concise and potentially deemed less significant, will directly extend from the stories of the previous two games, effectively serving as a spinoff.
However, the concept of a multiplayer experience stemming from a narrative-driven game like Horizon raises scepticism among many fans. However, an accurate assessment can only be made after experiencing the game firsthand.
Sony is set to launch Horizon: Forbidden West: Complete Edition for PC later this month, precisely on the 21st. This release could potentially amplify excitement and anticipation, possibly unveiling new details about the forthcoming Horizon multiplayer game.
