God of War Ragnarok gets New Game Plus, new gear, increased level cap and more

A new God of War Ragnarok update is now available for download on PlayStation consoles. The update adds New Game Plus mode, new equipment, increased level cap and much more.

The long-awaited New Game Plus feature for God of War Ragnarok is now officially available for download on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 .

A huge update for Sony's critically acclaimed exclusive also adds a bunch of other new features and content including new equipment, an increased level cap, an expanded Nilfeim Arena and more.

Additionally, SIE Santa Monica also fixed some bugs and added a brand new visual filter so you can enjoy Kratos' adventure in black and white. Looks pretty neat and we'll definitely give it a go.

Restored God of War: Ragnarök content hints at Egypt sequel

As for other additions, there are a couple of new armour appearances as you can see in the image below. The devs say they've remixed 13 of the existing armours with new colour combinations and styles that were not available previously.

You can get these at Huldra Brothers' Shop. The new Berserker Armor appearance can be acquired after defeating the Berserker King on New Game Plus.

Here's the breakdown of everything that's included in God of War Ragnarok's latest update:

New Game Plus - Allows you to re-play the game but with all your gear and skills.
New Equipment - Four new Armour sets and one new shield are included in the update.
An increased level cap - New Game Plus will provide additional levels of progression.
New Enchantments - The update adds a couple of new perks but also Burdens that make gameplay more challenging.
Expanded Nilfheim Arena - A selection of new enemies added, you can now play as either Kratos or Atreus and choose any of the following companion characters to fight beside you: Atreus (with Kratos), Freya, Brok, Sindri, Angrboda, Ingrid, Thor, and Thrúd.
