Arrowhead Game Studios has released a new patch for Helldivers 2, designed to fix various stability and crashing issues that have been affecting the game in recent months. Although Helldivers 2 has been somewhat stable, every new update has introduced additional bugs and crashes.
This update, patch 01.000.301, aims to resolve these issues with a range of fixes. Here are the full patch notes for the latest 01.000.301 update for Helldivers 2.
All of the changes made on Helldivers 2 Patch 01.000.301
Statement from the developers:
"For this patch, we have addressed some crashes as well as performance improvements following the decline from the last patch, performance improvements, and crash fixes."
Patch 01.000.301 is a relatively light update, with only two fixes mentioned by the developers. The first fix addresses the crash that occurs during the post-mission end screen, while the second fix resolves a crash that happens when you destroy an automaton tank.
Both crashes should now be resolved, but the list of known issues continues to grow. Arrowhead Game Studios has a lot of work ahead, as each bug fix seems to lead to additional problems. Here are the full patch notes for the latest 01.000.301 update for Helldivers 2:
- Fixed a crash that could occur during the post-mission end screen.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when destroying automaton tanks.
Here are all the issues that still exist in Helldivers 2 as of May 2, 2024:
- Damage-over-time effects may only work if dealt by the host.
- Reinforcement might be unavailable for some players who join a game in progress.
- Helldiver might be unable to stand up from crouching if surrounded by enemies.
- The game may crash if the host leaves while dead and rejoins the same session.
- The game may crash if the player changes the text language during a mission.
- Friend request can't be accepted if the requesting player changes their username before acceptance.
- Cross-platform friend invites might not show up in the Friend Requests tab.
- Players can't unfriend those befriended via friend code.
- Players can't unblock players who weren't on their friends list before.
- Medals and Super Credits payouts might be delayed.
- Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders or Eradicate missions.
- Scopes on some weapons, like the Anti-Material Rifle, might be slightly misaligned.
- Arc weapons might behave inconsistently and misfire.
- Spear targeting might be inconsistent, making it difficult to lock onto larger enemies.
- Stratagem beams might attach to an enemy but deploy to their original location.
- Explosions don't break your limbs unless you hit a rock.
- Automaton Detector Tower area might cause blue stratagems like Hellbomb to bounce and repel if used near the tower.
- Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of every Defend mission.
Each new update, whether it added a Warbond, Stratagem, or a new enemy type, seemed to bring more problems, leading to numerous bugs and crashes. One particularly frustrating crash occurred during the post-mission end screen, preventing players from receiving their rewards.
That's the highlight of the latest Helldivers 2 update. Hopefully, these fixes will resolve the crashing issues, allowing players to move past the end screen without problems. Given the extensive list of known issues, we can expect more updates in the coming days.
