Runes are getting an overhaul

Riot Games has made significant changes to the Runes in League of Legends, according to a leak from Spideraxe. The changes will go live with Patch 14.10 on May 15, 2024.

Riot Games shocked the entire League of Legends community by making the most unpredictable move ever. According to a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) by Spideraxe, a reliable source for League of Legends leaks, Riot is making massive changes to the Runes in LoL.

  • Here's an overview of the changes we can expect:
  • No more Lethal Tempo and predators.
  • Change the Font of Life and Press the Attack
  • Addition of a new healing rune

These changes are set to go live with Patch 14.10 on May 15, 2024.

How are the players reacting to this change?

The League of Legends community is buzzing with mixed reactions to these upcoming changes. Some players are ecstatic, finally free from the abusers of these overused runes. Others are fuming; their beloved runes are about to be ripped from their grasp. Even though the latter group primarily consists of Yasuo, Yone, and Hecarim mains, the community as a whole cannot help but feel sorry for the Rammus mains, as our favorite armadillo will be slightly slower due to the removal of Predator.

How will these changes affect League of Legends?

Saying that the meta will shift drastically in Patch 14.10 is definitely an understatement. That is because removing Lethal Tempo alone will disrupt the meta on all levels, from the lowest tiers to even the pro-play scene. It directly affects both the bottom-lane and middle-lane champions.

Again, removing Predator will severely hurt a few of the most widely used junglers, mainly Udyr, Hecarim, Skarner, and Rammus. As only a few speedy runes are available, this could potentially spell disaster for these champions.
