A recent update for Helldivers 2 was released yesterday, bringing with it a series of changes to weapon balance. Some weapons have been buffed, while others have been nerfed to improve gameplay balance.
Additionally, new environmental hazards in the form of sandstorms and blizzards have been introduced to certain maps, adding an extra layer of challenge for players.
The recently added Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) now has a reduced maximum fire rate, which may actually benefit players who found it unwieldy at its previous rate. Additionally, the rockets fired by the mech have been slightly nerfed, requiring more precision to penetrate armoured enemies effectively.

Changes to weapons
- Arc Thrower now consistently takes 1 second to charge a shot and has reduced range from 50m to 35m. Stagger force has been increased.
- Guard Dog now fully replenishes ammo from supply boxes.
- The anti-material rifle's damage has been boosted by 30%.
- Breaker Incendiary now deals 20 damage per bullet instead of 15. Fire damage per tick is up by 50%.
- Liberator Penetrator now features a full auto mode.
- Dominator's damage has been raised from 200 to 300, with increased stagger effect.
- The Diligence Counter Sniper now has medium armour penetration instead of light.
- Slugger's stagger effect and damage have been reduced, and its demolition force has decreased. The armour penetration tag in the menu has been fixed.
- The Recoilless Rifle now restores 3 rockets from supply boxes instead of 2.
- Spear now restores 2 missiles from supply boxes instead of 1.
- The Heavy Machine Gun's highest fire rate mode has been reduced from 1200 rpm to a more balanced 950 rpm.
Known Issues that still exist in the game Patch 01.000.201
- The game crashes when picking up a snowball or throwing back a grenade.
- Various issues related to friend invites and cross-play:
- Cross-platform friend invites may not appear in the Friend Requests tab.
- Players are unable to unfriend others they have befriended via friend code.
- Players cannot unblock players not previously on their Friends list.
- Players cannot befriend those with Steam names shorter than 3 characters.
- Explosive weapon stats only include direct hit damage, not explosive damage.
- Explosions do not cause limb damage except when colliding with terrain.
- Planet liberation reaches 100% after every Defend mission.
- Drowning in deep water with a Vitality Booster equipped results in a broken state.
- Stratagem beams may attach to an enemy but deploy to their original location.
- Some player customisations (e.g., title or body type) may reset upon game restart.
