Capcom have released the first Dragon's Dogma 2 update since launch. The update is available on PC and PlayStation 5 and it brings a New Game option and other fixes and improvements.

​​​​Capcom have today released the first update for their critically acclaimed new action RPG Dragon's Dogma 2. The update brings a couple of important additions and fixes, including the option for New Game, improved DLSS on PC and a couple of graphical options for consoles like the 30 FPS cap. 

The update is live now on Steam and PlayStation 5 and it weighs around 180 MB. Capcom confirmed that the patch will also come to the Xbox Series X|S platform in the next few days. 

Capcom also said that turning off motion blur and ray tracing on consoles is not expected to improve the frame rate significantly. More significant boost to FPS is expected in the future updates.

  • Adding the option to start a new game when save data already exists.
  • Changing the number of "Art of Metamorphosis" items available at Pawn Guilds in the game to 99.
  • Making the quest that allows players to acquire their own dwelling (where they can save and rest) available earlier in the game.

  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.

PlayStation 5 specific

  • Adding the option to switch Motion Blur on/off in Options.
  • Adding the option to switch Ray Tracing on/off in Options.
  • Adding the option to set Frame Rate at Max 30fps in Options.

Steam specific

  • Improving quality when DLSS SUPER RESOLUTION is enabled.
  • Fixing an issue related to the display of models under some specific settings.

This update certainly feels like a good start for Dragon's Dogma 2 post-launch support and proof that Capcom are committed to fixing some of the issues the game has at the moment. 

Hopefully, the patch to improve performance across all platforms comes soon too, as that's one of the biggest problems the game has at the moment.
