Rainbow 6 Siege just announced their latest event, Containment 2, via a social media post on X from their official page. From March 27, 2024, to April 17, 2024, the Consulate in Abidjan will once again be enveloped in darkness as the REACT Team is mobilised to eradicate the Protean threat.
Interestingly, Ubisoft did not include Containment 2 in their roadmap for 2024 so this certainly comes as a nice surprise for all Rainbow Six Siege fans. In the article below, you'll find everything you need to know about this Rainbow Six Extraction-like event that is coming soon to Siege.
A New Exclusive Game Mode: Nest Destruction
In the Containment Event, 10 players, divided into two teams of 5, the REACT Operators and the infected Proteans, engage in a 5v5 battle with one primary nest at stake.
As REACT Operators (Attackers), your mission is to infiltrate the area, locate the nests, and neutralise them. Meanwhile, as infected predators, your objective is to protect the nests and eliminate the reactive operators.
At the beginning of each round, the proteans strategically select the locations for their secondary nests. If these secondary nests are destroyed, the primary nest is revealed, and both teams must either defend or assault it with all available resources.
4 Returning Operators and Abilities
In this edition of the Containment Event, we'll get four operators:
- REACT Team: Zofia and Hibana.
- Proteans: Bandit and Mozzie
As part of the REACT Team, Zofia and Hibana bring their unique abilities to the fight, providing strategic advantages for the attackers. On the other hand, infected Bandit and Mozzie use their enhanced abilities as Proteans to defend the nests against the REACT Team.
While Proteans are limited to melee attacks, they possess higher durability and specialised abilities that allow them to navigate the map quickly and efficiently. These abilities make them formidable defenders against the REACT Operators' assault.
Rainbow 6 Siege Containment 2 Gear, skins and cosmetics
The new Containment Collection features a variety of customisation items for both REACT and Protean Operators, including uniforms, headgear, Operator Portraits, Background Cards, and weapon skins. Additionally, players can expect the return of popular bundles from the 2021 Containment Collection, such as the Aruni Ravage bundle.
For players looking to acquire these items, the Containment bundles will be available for purchase at 1680 R6 Credits each, or through collection packs priced at 300 R6 Credits (or 12,500 Renown) each. Furthermore, players who log in during the event will receive one free Collection Pack, with additional packs available for completing weekly challenges.
A new addition to the offerings is the Containment Signature Pack, which includes an exclusive drone, charm, and universal weapon skin for all Operators, providing players with even more customisation options during the event.
