Destiny veterans are in for a nostalgia trip when Destiny 2: Beyond Light releases since one of the fan-favourites, Hawkmoon, is coming back to the game.

Hawkmoon was a highly popular Exotic hand cannon back in the days of Destiny due to the ability to surprise both the wielder and the victim of the incoming shots. This was due to the weapon having a trait that would randomly make one of its shots do more damage, which would considerably reduce TTK in the Crucible.

Such RNG could be rather annoying as well and this is why the weapon will receive a bit of a rework in Destiny 2. Considering that Thorn and The Last Word received similar treatment already, it's safe to say Bungie are capable of still making Hawkmoon an interesting weapon choice despite the required alterations.

Hawkmoon was added with The Taken King back in the old Destiny and so was Eyasluna, a hand cannon that looks similar but doesn't have the Exotic's RNG properties.

Many thought Austringer to be the definitive replacer for Eyasluna but now that the Exotic version is coming back, one could hazard a guess we could see this weapon return as well.

Unlike Hawkmoon, Eyasluna was not confirmed by Luke Smith himself but since Austringer is about to be sunset at the end of Season 11, it would kind of make sense to bring this one back as well.

It's still early in the season though and this is just speculation at this point but who wouldn't love seeing this beauty making a return as well?
