ArenaNet updated Guild Wars 2 with more Icebrood Saga content and the second part of the multi-chaptered finale brings more Dragon Response Missions, which were not well received since their introduction.

Dragon Response Missions seem to be ArenaNet's vision of continuing the story of Guild Wars 2 as well as providing replayable content for the players but the audience is not exactly thrilled by this direction. The missions drag out for fairly long periods of time and the players don't feel like the rewards justify the grind.

Still, the latest chapter of The Icebrood Saga finale took this exact route when it comes to delivering story content as it added four new Dragon Response Missions.

Accompanying these are the usual suspects - more factions to recruit for your push against the dragons and new weapon skin lines. In this case, it appears we are getting Tengu weapons, as you can see in the trailer below.

One cool aspect of the new allied factions is the resurgence of the Deldrimor dwarves who are in their stone form and are obviously not extinct - they were just battling Primordus' forces underground.

However, one of the new DRMs, set in Thunderhead Peaks, will probably push many players over the edge since it features an incredibly frustrating boss that is basically a damage sponge with knockback galore. The encounter is not particularly hard but it drags on for a long time because players spend a lot of time disabled, especially if they are built for melee combat.

Considering most of the team is working on the Canthan expansion, it is known that ArenaNet can't allocate that many resources into the Icebrood Saga so cutting the devs some slack is in order.

However, that doesn't help the fact that the content we are currently getting is not able to keep the players engaged so the pressure on The End of Dragons expansion carrying the hype is higher than ever.
