ArenaNet posted a few thoughts about the upcoming changes in Guild Wars 2 PvP, mostly focusing on the removal of two Amulets that were crucial for sustain builds.
April 6, 2021, will be the day Mender and Marshal amulets will be leaving Guild Wars 2 PvP . The reason for the removal of Mender was because it added too much sustain to both the wearer and those the wearer would be healing. In other words, it made support builds too tanky and extremely efficient at healing at the same time.
While Marshal amulet was not as widely used due to offering Condition Damage instead of Vitality, ArenaNet predicted that the compensation they will offer to support builds could make it spiral out of control. Namely, Marshal features +1,000 Healing Power, just like Mender and with its removal, the massive stat boosts to Healing Power in PvP will be gone.
The compensation we mentioned before will be Sigil of Transference, which normally increases outgoing healing by 10 per cent but it will be enhanced by 20 per cent in PvP. You can now probably see how it could become problematic to have a Marshal amulet coupled with this Sigil.
Furthermore, Elemental Bastion for Tempest Elementalists, Selfless Daring for Guardians and Call of Valor for Warriors have all received increases in heal scaling so healing should still be potent in PvP.
Still, ANet will be keeping an eye on the changes in hope of not allowing fights to come to a stalemate due to damage not being able to overcome healing.
