ArenaNet continues to impress with the uptime of Guild Wars 2 as the team is launching yet another expansion without bringing the servers down.
Guild Wars 2 boasts the best server uptime when it comes to big live service games as it barely ever goes offline. Weekly maintenance does not interrupt the players' experience, major updates are good to go as soon as a client downloads them and that extends to expansions well.
End of Dragons is the third expansion for Guild Wars 2 and it is officially getting launched on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM (noon) EDT / 5:00 PM BST / 6:00 PM CET.
There is no significant changes in GW2 monetisation and as such, the game continues to be free of subscription while the original campaign is completely free to play. In the terms of expansion pricing, you can get End of Dragons for as little as $29.99 / €29.99. Naturally, there are the fancier options as well, that can kick up the price up to $79.99 / €79.99.
We originally visited Cantha, the land that comes with End of Dragons, back in 2006 during the times of the original Guild Wars where we joined the warring factions of Kurzicks and Luxons. Since we are almost 300 years into the future lore-wise, these two have made peace and united under the banner of the ruling empress. However, some of our old adversaries are causing trouble and players enter a new adventure as they try to defuse the situation in the south-eastern part of Tyria.
The expansion is bringing a fully voiced storyline with big names in the voice actor world, such as Erika Ishii, Noshir Dalal, Ry Chase, Rina Hoshino, Kelly Hu, Tina Huang and Sarah Sokolovic.
Additionally, the expansions features a brand new mount, the Siege Turtle with cannons mounted on its back, skiffs that are used for fishing, as well as fishing itself, which will be used for crafting and more. New masteries include the Jade Bots, which will be tiny companions that should enhance our journey through the mystical lands of Cantha.
