ArenaNet released the first chapter of Guild Wars 2 - Champions, a four-part finale to the Icebrood Saga, which finally got its voice acting back but there are other important additions as well.
Icebrood Saga episodes 3 and 4 couldn't be voice acted in time due to Covid-19 pandemic preventing the developers and voice actors from grouping but ArenaNet managed to work around those issues eventually and we got the voices back. While having voiced story missions is important, keep in mind that Drizzlewood Coast will feel much more lively as well, with all the grunting having been replaced by proper voices.
As for the new additions in the first chapter of Champions, we are getting the Dragon Response missions which should prove to be some of the most replayable content thus far. Players can enjoy these solo or in teams but the devs noted it might be slightly more challenging to them on your own.
To make sure replayablity stays in tact, there will be several things that vary in each run. You can end up having different allies, who provide different bonuses or combat assistance. If your pool of allied groups doesn't feel sufficient to make things random enough, you can recruit additional groups.
On the other hand, if you prefer less RNG, you can pay to choose your allies in your Dragon Response mission, making sure you can properly build and chase potential meta for completing the content.
All of the new missions will be happening in the existing maps across Tyria, which makes sense as Primordus is waking up and invading provinces we already know. Just like in the original Guild Wars, it seems like the Asura are his first target.
As for rewards, you can get several new weapon sets but only the Stormcaller weapons will remain tradeable while the other additions will be account bound.
Now it only remains for you to hop in and enjoy the new along with the older content that got refreshed, Commander!
