Guild Wars 2's latest episode, Jormag Rising, introduced another meta event to the Drizzlewood Coast map but the previous meta's length was shortened in order to compenaste.
Drizzlewood Coast is a well-received map in general as it's both visually appealing and features a ton of interesting content but the one objection that players had about it was the length of the meta event that starts with Battle Cry. It took a long time to conquer all the sectors as they had to be done in a specific order.
Jormag Rising, the fourth episode of The Icebrood Saga, introduced another meta event to the map along with new sectors to conquer. However, the devs heard the players' feedback loud and clear, which prompted them to adjust the length of Episode 3's meta.
Overall, both No Quarter and Jormag Rising meta events should now require roughly the same amount of time to complete as the Episode 3 meta originally took. In other words, Battle Cry meta length was made significantly shorter to accommodate the new set of events on the map.
Speaking of the new meta, it will take place north of Wolf's Crossing bridge as the players are taking the fight to the Dominion in their stronghold. There are new sectors to conquer first but this time around, they don't have to be done in any particular order.
ArenaNet specifically noted they want to give players more agency on how to approach the event. Picking the order in which they conquer the sectors is one of the two major choices here.
The second one, possibly more impactful, is that players can choose to either group up in one large blob in order to have an easier time completing the event or split into four groups in order to lure out Dominion tribunes as fast as possible.
Overall, the two metas make up for quite an epic experience as we pop up on Jormag's doorstep.
