Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an upcoming first-person shooter survival horror video game developed and published by Ukrainian game developer GSC Game World. Stalker 2 is scattered over an enormous, thoroughly free-roam world featuring twenty-one regions with distinct groups of people, buildings, anomalies, and various biomes.
For Dzmitry Anoshka, Stalker's Level Art Lead, most of his inspirations come from his childhood close to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Taking special care and consideration, the team surveyed all the sites in real, meshing them with actual parameters to deliver the player a original vision of the Zone.
One of the principal concerns of Stalker 2 is the freedom that players will have in the game. Less restriction is done in terms of free exploration.Skif, the game protagonist and main character, stands as the epitome of freedom. He is no superhero but just an ordinary person navigating through an extraordinary world.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl's weapons, anomalies and survival
It is a fully detailed and dangerous world. Stalker 2 is supposed to welcome the players to these places, such as the Burnt Farmstead and the Church in the Swamps, each packed with unique challenges and enemies.
From mutant dogs to anomalies, the threats and surprises continuously change. Each of the threats and enemies are AI programmed to predict the player's reactions to his surroundings.
Regarding the weapons, 35 different weapons are included in the game, each upgradable and moddable with a number of attachments. Anomalies, such as the Cushion Anomaly, can be as useful as their dangers and can help cushion the fall of a long-distance jump.
To survive in the Zone, the player has to take constant care for Skif, his food, rest, and perusing his inventory carefully.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl cinematics and story
Stalker 2 is not just set around survival but also reasoning with a story. Storyline depends on gameplay choices, and the general storyline and changes will appear in the course of the game.
It is populate with factions – peoples who have their ways of thinking it – and they would change over time, leading to unpredicted alliances and conflicts. The routine lives of Zone's habitants are now more detailed, placing the game's setting and characters into its spacious map.
The head of the Cinematics Team, Ingwar Dovgoteles, drew upon that and expanded it: "For Stalker 2, cutscenes play a very important role. The team has developed almost three hours of in-game cutscenes to bring a cinematic layer into the game experience. They are key to development of characters and deepening the narrative - much more emotionally involving for the player within this world.".
