According to developer GSC Game World, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will feature full modding support at launch, not just on PC but also extend these capabilities to include Xbox Series X/S.
The developer said this game will offer support for console players who are chomping at the bit to try their hand at modding.
In an interview with Radio Times, via Pure Xbox, GSC's technical producer Yevhenii Kulyk said the studio knows what its committed player base wants.
"We're bringing mods to console, so they will be available on the Xbox as well as the PC," Kulyk said, before confirming that modders on Xbox will have a comprehensive tool set to work with.
These tools for modding will give way for Xbox players to create content in a wide range of scopes, from minor tweaks all the way up to large total conversions that dramatically change the feel of the game.
That means console players can look forward to the same creative freedom previously afforded to PC modders.
Slated to release on November 20 for both Xbox Series X/S and PC, Stalker 2 will hit both Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one, enabling access to its gameplay and modding potential on day one.
The studio's pledge to nurture a strong modding ecosystem on both platforms surely ensures deeper player engagements, pushing forward what can be done within the world of Chornobyl.
