Ubisoft have rolled out a story trailer for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint dubbed the Global Threat, and the dev almost went full Skynet with the storyline, with the trailer exploring the future in which AI was left to handle most crucial tasks.
According to the timeline, entrepreneur and visionary Jace Skell's plans to save the world started with the creation of drones, which eventually grew into a multifunctional, autonomous drone system.
Intended to eliminate food shortages, poverty, sickness and replace pretty much all the defence tasks, Skell's system goes horribly awry and starts assassinating people, before Skell himself becomes unreachable and the whole situation turns into a global alarm.
This is part where Ghost Recon: Breakpoint players come in, as they're tasked to invade Skell's private island, which should be packed with threats and is the backdrop for Ubisoft's sequel to Wildlands.
"From the highest fjords and snowy peaks to the deepest swamps, meet different factions – from Skellers to Homesteaders to Outcasts – that will impact your mission. What happened to Jace Skell? Who is pulling the strings? Find the truth and clear the plot", Ubisoft wrote.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will have players facing off the Wolves, a lethal military unit led by your former brother-in-arms Colonel Cole D. Walker, as played by Jon Bernthal, also known as the guy who played Netflix's Punisher, excellently so if we may add.
Just like Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Ubisoft decided to make Ghost Recon: Breakpoint a combined UPlay and . The same move ended up working more than just fine for the former, as the dev reported its PC version having than the original game.
If you're interested in how to get into Ghost Recon: Breakpoint's closed beta, you can find out , and should you choose to preorder Standard, Gold, Ultimate or Wolves Collector Editions, you'll be able to try the final product three days earlier.
