We must admit that the ''fight'' between the Epic Games Store and Steam is turning into a severely one-sided competition, as Sweeney and Co snatched yet another major Ubisoft title from Steam and added it to their storefront's offer.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is the second Ubisoft title to go with Epic, although we're not talking about traditional exclusivity, but rather a joint UPlay and EGS one.
The move isn't surprising though, as Ubisoft stated that they're looking to increase exposure to their store, while working with a partner that provides better terms.
There's also the fact that The Division 2 reported more preorders than the original game, so there's no shortage of reasons.
Now before we move on, we'd like to clarify one thing that Steam's defenders who choose the VictimTM defence method often intentionally fail to mention - exclusives or no exclusives, Epic still have a long way to go to catch up with Steam.
While the metric of Steam's one billionth accounts isn't a reliable one, the one that shows more than 90 million active monthly users very much is, and for all the Fortnite players in the world, this sort of trust takes a bit longer to build.
Analysts seem to agree too, as they estimated that Steam's dominance will continue in 2019, so to say that Valve are in immediate trouble just sounds silly. Nevertheless, it may not be burning under their feet, but it is getting warmer.
Meanwhile, Epic's aggressive tactics are bearing fruit, as they've added plenty of big names like Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3 and The Division 2, as well as a host of lesser known, indie titles, who have found Epic's Store to be much more lucrative.
As you can see, the list keeps growing too, and Steam doesn't seem to be responding, although the more Epic push their 88-12 per cent share model onto the market, the possible options for Valve's response grow thinner by the minute.
Epic's CEO Tim Sweeney has recently said that if Valve abandoned the current industry standard of 70-30 per cent share, Epic would organise a "hasty retreat" from their exclusives-based strategy, but Steam hasn't responded yet.
