Fortnite is going to become more expensive for cosmetics aficionados but only in a few regions while Mexico is going to get a minor drop.

Epic Games is blaming "inflation and currency fluctuations" for the latest changes in Fortnite V Buck pricing, but it eventually boils down to the company not being willing to bear the cost of these "fluctuations" and simply wanting to push the burden down to the users.

The price changes will happen on July 17, 2023, and will affect UK, Canada and Mexico.

In the case of the first two, it will be a price hike while Mexico will get a minor discount in comparison to the current prices.

For UK and Canada, V Buck prices will increase by roughly 10 per cent while the Mexican players will find them to be around five per cent cheaper.

Pricing changes will also affect Dark Reflections, Magma Masters, Lava Legends, Summer Legends, and the Wish, Set and Match Quest Pack bundles as they appear on rotation in the future.

Overall, cosmetics will be more expensive in the future and so will battle passes, considering they are purchased with V Bucks. That said, you can earn the currency back through the grind so it's not as bad with that particular system.

Meanwhile, the Fortnite Crew subscription will retain its current price of £9.99 / $15.99 CAD / $249 Mexican Pesos.

It is also somewhat conspicuous that the price hike is happening right before The Elder Scrolls Online crossover.
