Epic Games announced that Fortnite proceeds will be donated to Ukraine in the two weeks that should be one of the revenue peaks for the game.

Fortnite essentially introduced the battle pass systems and popularised the seasonal monetisation models for modern video games. In other words, Epic Games are very good at this type of content and it brings in a ton of money. This time around, the money will be forwarded to humanitarian relief in Ukraine as the company announced all the proceeds from the game will be donated, until April 3, 2022.

Considering the new Chapter 3 of  Season 2 and a new battle pass just popped up, it's safe to assume the game is seeing a big surge in revenue and it's pretty cool of the devs to decide to donate the proceeds at exactly that time period.

Not long after Epic Games' announcement, Microsoft popped in to say Xbox joined in and all of their net proceeds will be donated for the same purpose.

In other words, the money you spend on purchasing anything in Fortnite will mostly be sent to Ukraine for humanitarian aid, with the exception of store cuts in some cases. On PC and Xbox platforms, these cuts are largely ignored as the net proceeds will also be forwarded to the charity.

While this may seem like just another company hopping on the latest trend, it's important to remember that Fortnite has massive revenue and the size of the donation is nothing to gloss over.
