Fortnite: Battle Royale's content update 5.40 has landed and added yet another weapon to the fray - the su[pressed assault rifle. As usual there are tweaks and bug fixes, most notably to the recently introduced Getaway limited time mode.
First things first though - the killstick. Epic describe suppressed assault rifles as sneaky weapons that reward "trigger discipline with precision". They can be found just about anywhere and their epic and legendary variants deal 32 and 33 damage per shot, respectively.
Looking at it on paper, Fortnite's suppressed AR doesn't seem like a good idea although it stands to reason that Epic will find a way to pull it off without the game devolving into a sneak-snipe-fest. Oh and by the way, this also means it's time to say goodbye to the drum gun, which will be vaulted.
Fortnite's Getaway LTM has been extensively bug-proofed, seeing as how some players kept getting stuck under the van. You can't get on the van anymore without building, for starters, and the victory music has been dialled down.
Quite inconspicuously, Epic added a note on sub-region matchmaking having been added to Southeast Asia, which is a pretty big deal. It's also something that PUBG players have been begging for since forever and wh...oh, wrong game, my bad. Anyway, you can find more specifics about the matchmaking on Epic's official reddit post on the matter, here .
Fortnite's 5.40 update, the one without the "content" moniker, has added the grappler gun, which seems to be all the rage at the moment. It can be found everywhere and allows for chaining up shots. It has 15 non-refillable charges though, so you may want to plan your Bat-scapades accordingly.
The 5.40 update to Fortnite: Battle Royale also vaulted them Dirty Harry revolvers, which means many punks will be feeling lucky for sure. The update is already going live but if you're interested in all the details, you can check out the 5.40 content update patch notes over here .
