Bungie revealed the start date of the first Iron Banner in The Witch Queen expansion and it will arrive with two new weapons that may not necessarily be good in PvP.
Iron Banner is returning Destiny 2 next Tuesday, March 15, 2022. It will be the first one in The Witch Queen expansion and as such, it will bring new weapons to play with. However, the weapon types are somewhat peculiar since they are coming from a PvP activity.
First, there is the sword, Razor's Edge . Swords are generally not that useful in PvP this one is not offering any perks that would make it a desirable pick over an LMG, grenade launcher, rocket launcher or linear fusion rifle. However, it can have amazing rolls for PvE.
The weapon can roll with fan-favourites like Jagged Blade and Burst Guard in the first two columns but it really shines with the "big perks". Duelist's Trance can increase the weapon's charge rate on kill, meaning more heavy attacks. Since this is a Vortex Frame, it will be amazing for annihilating huge groups of enemies. If it rolls with Chain Reaction, it's even better.
There are also the mainstays like Relentless Strikes and Tireless Blade to keep the ammo count up while the final column can also give you Frenzy so it's more formidable against tougher enemies.
Additionally, this sword has Void damage type so it will work with Void Damage Boost and Volatile Rounds. A PvP drop but it's great for PvE.
Meanwhile, Frontier's Cry is a 180 RPM hand cannon, which is not a popular archetype. Rolling Adagio on it, however, can result in three-hit kills which are bound to catch people off-guard with that rate of fire. The same goes for Rapid Hit and Kill Clip combination.
It offers another way to surprise enemies too - Iron Reach. This thing will provide a significant range increase and if RNG favours you, the rest of the perks might throw in some more range for a fast-firing HC that can have an incredible reach.
Both weapons come with the static Skulking Wolf perk which will remove you from enemy radar when you kill someone while providing enhanced radar to you,
