Far Cry: New Dawn has topped UK sales charts, despite Metro Exodus debuting in the same week. Jump Force may have had a slow start, coming in number four but these numbers don't project the whole picture as they are only physical sales.

Far Cry: New Dawn found itself on top of what seems to be a meager week sales-wise. The game sold 86.5 per cent less than Far Cry 5 and about four times less than Far Cry Primal did in the first week. Still, this didn't stop it from reaching the top of the ladder in UK, hinting that the other games on the list didn't sell all that good in the past week.

As for the #2 on the list - it is Metro Exodus. Many expected the game to wipe the floor with competition during the release week, but that was all before the fiasco regarding the exodus to Epic Store. I will see myself out. While the physical sales of Metro Exodus don't look like they are something to be proud off, they are still about 50 per cent higher than those of Metro Last Light, marking a significant improvement.

According to , 57 per cent of these sales came from PlayStation 4. Console domination in physical sales is no surprise, since PC player base is leaning more towards digital distribution, hinting that Metro Exodus sold well overall.

As for the physical sales coming in second after a Far Cry spin-off, the fact that the on the PC physical edition certainly didn't help the demand, as Metro Exodus fell short of the top of the list by mere 2.000 units that weren't sold. Therefore, Epic Store may have inadvertently done a favour for Far Cry New Dawn by unwittingly gimping Metro Exodus' physical sales.

Jump Force also debuted last week, but it didn't sell that much either. This anime mash-up fighting game sold fewer copies than Red Dead Redemption 2, landing in spot #4. It is unfortunate, as we held the game in high regard in our , but Shonen Jump's legends still beat EA's behemoth, FIFA 19, in sales, which came in #5.

Here is the full list, for clarity. And no, there is no mistake - Crackdown 3 didn't make the top 10 list. It debuted in #13.

  • Metro Exodus
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Jump Force
  • FIFA 19
  • Resident Evil 2
  • New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
