We'll have to wait a little bit longer for the Fallout 4 next- gen update. Bethesda announced today via social media X that the update need more time in the oven so they will be pushing it into 2024.
No specific release date has been announced but we should probably hear more about that early in 2024.
"Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update! We know you're excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024," Bethesda posted on social media X.
Fallout 4 next-gen upgrade should be available to both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 owners, even though, Bethesda is now owned by Microsoft.
The next-gen upgrade will probably be free of charge and come with an improved frame rate, resolution and several other quality-of-life improvements.
Fallout 4 released back in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It received positive reviews from both the critics and players albeit some fans criticised the game for being a major step back from its true RPG roots.
Fallout 4 is also one of the best-selling Bethesda games of all time but we won't be getting a sequel to it anytime soon as Bethesda are currently busy with Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 76.
There are some vague rumours that a Fallout 3 remaster is on the way but take that with a grain of salt, until we get an official confirmation.
