Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5, and the newest trailer shows off some of what players can expect from the highly anticipated port. There are several improvements players can expect on top of what has already been shown including next-gen features meant to improve immersion and fidelity.
Scheduled to release on April 7 alongside huge content updates, this is going to be one of the biggest patches for Starfield since launch.
DualSense Control Support
Players can expect full DualSense support, meaning that there will be adaptive triggers which will vary based on the weapon you’re using, whether it be guns or spaceship weapons.
Audio logs and in-game chatter will play through the controller speaker. Player health will also be indicated through the light bar, changing colours as you take damage.
Players will also be able to interact with the touchpad to perform various actions like scanning, toggling perspectives, and accessing menus.
Game Modes and Performance Updates on PS5 Pro
Starfield PS5 Pro Modes:
- Pro Visual Mode – 4K at 30 FPS
- Pro Performance Mode – Boosted 60 FPS
Image upscaling is supported through PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, also known as PSSR.
Pricing
Starting at $49.99 for the standard version, you can grab the game’s Premium Edition for $70, which includes the Shattered Space expansion and the future Terran Armada content pass. Players will also be able to purchase Terran Armada separately.
Starfield's PS5 enhancements breathe new life into the title with DualSense support and PS5 Pro upgrades. In addition to new updates, Bethesda's sci-fi RPG will feel like a new game on PlayStation.
