According to a reliable Xbox insider Klobrille, Fable announcement at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase will not be a gameplay demo. Instead, players should expect an in-engine trailer.

The long wait is over. Microsoft will finally host Xbox Games Showcase this week where many new games from Xbox Game Studios but also third-party partners will be shown. One of these new games could be Fable reboot from Forza Horizon devs, Playground Games.

Rumours about Fable reboot have been floating around Reddit and gaming forums for quite some time now and earlier this year, Playground Games have been hiring for their next project, which is an open-world triple-A action RPG.

Today, a reliable Xbox insider Klobrille has hinted that players should get their Fable expectations right for the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. He wrote that Fable will probably be announced but a gameplay demo is a bit too early for this show. An in-engine trailer is more likely to happen. Here's Klobrille's post:

"Just to get that expectation right, I don't think anyone should expect a Fable announcement with a gameplay demo like what Halo Infinite will do. I guess this will rather be in the Horizon II-trailer-like ballpark, so an in-engine trailer but somewhat indicative of what to expect."

If Xbox are not ready to show Fable gameplay yet, then it is safe to assume that the game won't be a launch title for the new consoles. Our bet for the release date would be late 2021.

Of course, this is just speculation at the moment and we would love if Playground Games surprised everyone with some gorgeous-looking Fable gameplay.
