Developer From Software have confirmed that a big Elden Ring expansion dubbed Shadow of the Erdtree is currently in development.
Elden Ring fans rejoice! From Software have just announced that they are working on a first expansion for their critically acclaimed action RPG Elden Ring.
The expansion is officially named Shadow of the Erdtree and the devs shared the first concept art, which reveals sprawling fields and what appears to be Erdtree in the distance. Check it out above.
Sadly, details about this expansion are non-existent since From Software only said they are working on new content for Elden Ring and nothing else.
"Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together. An upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development. We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between," From Software tweeted.
The expansion will obviously introduce new areas to explore and bosses to fight as well as other additions but we don't have those details at the moment. It does look like From Software will have more to share later this year, perhaps at one of the big gaming events like Summer Games Fest or The Game Awards.

As for the actual release date, if we had to guess, we would say late 2023 or early 2024 is probably the target release window but that's just our guess and nothing more. The expansion will launch on all platforms including PC , PlayStation 5 , PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
