What can PC players expect from action RPG Elden Ring in terms of PC features like ultra-wide support?

From Software are not really known for their technical prowess when it comes to PC, ports which usually have capped frame-rate and a very poor set of PC features.

It looks like that practice is set to continue with Elden Ring. If you're wondering if Elden Ring will support ultrawide aspect ratio and ultrawide monitors, we have bad news for you.

The answer is no, Elden Ring does not support ultrawide monitors. That's according to  the official FAQ on From Software's website:

This certainly comes as a massive disappointment for the PC community who expected at least some basic stuff like unlocked frame-rate and support for those big, wide monitors.

Many point out that not having such features on PC in 2022 is not acceptable and we somewhat agree. From Software should look to address the lack of these features in the coming months and at least introduce ultrawide support in post-launch updates.

Adding ultrawide support probably is not as easy for the devs as some players assume but nonetheless, the majority of big releases launch with such a feature, which really should become a norm for PC games in 2022.

Otherwise, the Souls modding community will have to do their part and work on an ultrawide mod just like they did for Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro.
