By now, gamers have come to expect Halloween events in their favourite games along with aptly themed cosmetics, and Bungie are no different. Dubbed Festival of the Lost, Destiny 2's event sees the return of Eva Levante after a year off.
"This holiday is a time for Guardians to don irreverent masks and celebrate the memories of those that are lost. As a growing threat looms ever-present, return to the Tower, grab some candy, and remind yourself what you’re fighting for."
Eva Levante returns with a ghoulishly stylish bang - surely you noticed the candles, lights, cobwebs, pumpkins and the rest of the Halloween hoopla?
To start their journey, players need to talk to Eva and acquire a Masquerader Helmet to participate. Destiny 2 bounties and activities earn you Chocolate Strange Coins, which can be used to purchase mask ornaments.
Note that everyone is eligible - both Destiny 2 and New Light players, although the latter need to be at 770 Power to begin.
"Back by popular demand, Candy makes its sweet return as a reward to be spent towards Mystery Grab Bags and the Braytech Werewolf Legendary Auto Rifle. After acquiring the fully Masterworked 950 Power weapon, create your own monster with random rolls", Bungie said.
During the festival, Guardians will need to revisit the Haunted Forest and clear it of ghouls and other terrors. The time limit is 15 minutes, and the dev warned players of what they'll find at the end.
Naturally, there will be plenty of Halloween-themed cosmetics in the Eververse as well, just in case you're looking for some extra oomph. We'd definitely say the armour decorations you see qualify as oomph, no?
Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost kicks off on 29 October and ends of 19 November 2019, so you've plenty of time to jump in.
