Bungie are going to make the Power grind in Destiny 2 easier by letting Pinnacle gear have more impact on the growth as well as reducing the slot requirements for Power progression.
Destiny 2 players may see the grind from 900 to 950 and 950 to 960 as slogs, so Bungie are reducing the necessary grind for each milestone. The first way to reduce it is by boosting the impact of Pinnacle rewards. They will no longer be just +1 Power granted upon acquisition, but rather +2.
According to This Week at Bungie post, the developers wanted to give more of a reward for players who dedicate themselves to more challenging and time-limited activities that include Pinnacle rewards.
Furthermore, in order to raise a character's Power by 1, players need to get a drop in all slots, which created obvious problems when duplicates started dropping. To deal with this issue, Bungie reduced the requirement to just four slots that will decide on a character's average Power.
The road to 960 should be easier than ever, especially considering that The Iron Banner event is returning in the same week. As you may know by now, this version of Crucible offers Pinnacle rewards and pretty much skyrockets the pace at which Guardians gain Power.
There is a hitch though - the event will start on Tuesday, 5 November 2019 while the Pinnacle hotfix will happen on Thursday, 7 November 2019. Therefore, it would be wise to hold on to those bounty rewards until the hotfix kicks in, in order to get the maximum benefit possible.
Keep in mind that the recent nerfs to Heavy Ammo spawning in Crucible will carry over to The Iron Banner version of the activity. In other words, it will take 60 seconds for it to spawn initially, with 120-second cooldown upon looting it.
