Despite the players hating the addition of Stasis, Bungie is pushing further with a new gun in Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer. However, it seems like Solar Light is gearing up to be the counter to it.
Stasis is generally hated in Destiny 2 PvP because it simply made it less fun for everyone involved, on top of being ridiculously overpowered even after a series of nerfs to it for all three classes. Therefore, if you are worried that Bungie are now putting in Stasis Exotics into the game, you really wouldn't be wrong.
The new Exotic Sidearm, Cryosthesia 77K, will apparently have functionality that mirrors that of Devil's Ruin but while the latter's charged shot fires like a Fusion Rifle, Cryosthesia's charged shot will still be a single projectile. This single projectile, however, will freeze an opponent instantly, which is undoubtedly going to cause a lot of frustration for anyone hoping to get kills with their roaming Super.
While that sounds just as horrible as Stasis did before Beyond Light was released, at least there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. It appears that Bungie are finally adding counters to Stasis into the game, with the Exotic boots for Titans paving the way.
The Path of Burning Steps will provide a damage boost after scoring a Solar kill, which will probably translate into one-shot or two-tap kills in Crucible, depending on which primary weapon you have equipped.
Getting better TTK is great but it's the second part of the Exotic that is really interesting - it will make the Titan resistant to Stasis. Hopefully, this trend catches on and we can finally see matches with people using Light again.
