Bungie is shifting bonuses to reputation gains when Destiny 2: Witch Queen arrives and from the sound of the latest TWAB, players should mostly feel like these were buffs.
Destiny 2 is slowly reworking older Vendor systems, which are receiving new UI and overall progression. During Season 15, Bungie found that players were not playing the game the way devs intended so they announced reputation will be compensated in Season 16, when the Witch Queen expansion arrives.
Apparently, the players weren't paying much attention to the activity streaks and that resulted in more activities launched with less reputation gain overall. With the S16 changes, Vanguard reputation should be twice as fast for most players and even faster if they play Nightfalls at the higher difficulty or lean into the activity streaks further. This sounds great on paper but it might be good to be cautiously optimistic. After all, Bright Dust changes in the past were said to award more currency on average but that also meant a lower cap for those who farmed it regularly.
Bungie also found that Trials of Osiris reputation gains were about 30 per cent slower than anticipated and it couldn't be accelerated with higher ranks. Therefore, S16 will award more rep for each round won during a match and all of this will have an increased multiplier depending on the number of wins a player has on a ticket. Overall, the devs are aiming for a 50 per cent increase in ToO rep gains and they will keep an eye on things in future.
Crucible reputation is staying the way it is on live servers at the moment while Gambit is getting a proper revamp in the Witch Queen so it's hinted reputation will be altered as well. More information on that is coming in one of the TWABs before WQ launch.
