Bungie released a teaser on the Destiny 2 Instagram page, showing Eris Morn braving an unknown and freezing area which is probably the first hint toward the next expansion.
Destiny 2 didn't get much content-wise in Season of the Worthy. It was a bunch of bounties and public event grinding but it eventually wrapped up with a decent bit of past lore during the quest to get Felwinter's Lie shotgun.
Now, the lore hounds might be in for a treat as Bungie are teasing something that looks like a new area completely. It is icy, has craters and theorycrafting is already going wild. If you want to check out the cinematic , you can do so on the provided link or if you like theorycrafting, you can check out some of the more plausible ones we've collected from the internet.
Eris Morn's wading through the unfriendly terrain has some players guessing that it's Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. The reason for this is that concept art for the place already exists and we could be uncovering something connected to the Darkness or still searching for the Deep Stone Crypt.
Then again, the latter might not be plausible if the area turns out to be Europa, since Cayde already figured out the Crypt is on Enceladus. This brings us to another popular theory - it is actually Enceladus that Eris is on.
She could be looking for the Crypt as well, which could mean we could see Cayde's return in the future. That might be Hunters' wishful thinking but we will know for sure on June 9, 2020, when Bungie reveal what the video is actually all about.
