Bungie revealed that Destiny 2 event Moments of Triumph will be available until 27 August 2019, giving players a decent chunk of time to complete Triumphs required for exclusive rewards. The customisable shirt is particularly curious.
Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph is a part of the 7/7 (7 July) celebration between Bungie and the community that tends to offer certain rewards each year at the same time. The event is already underway and players will have just under two months to grind for the triumphs that will in turn award exclusive items.
The items are as follows:
- Moments of Triumph 2019 Emblem - unlocked with one triumph
- Moments of Triumph 2019 Sparrow - unlocked with five triumphs
- Moments of Triumph 2019 Ship - unlocked at 10 triumphs
- Moments of Triumph 2019 T-Shirt offer - unlocked at 15 triumphs
- Moments of Triumph 2019 Seal and title - unlocked at 20 triumphs
Most of the rewards are pretty straightforward - you do enough challenges and you get the reward. The sparrow and ship can be seen on the header image of the article while the emblem, seal and title were not shown on the official blog post.
The T-Shirt can be seen on the official website, the store and in the picture below. At first, it's nothing that stands out but there are two things that make it unique among the offers.
It costs a symbolic $777,777.77 which is obviously a ridiculous price for a T-Shirt but it's not really the actual cost as it simply references the 7th day of 7th month that became an official celebration over the years.
The actual price is $24.99 and players can unlock the offer by collecting 15 triumphs. In order to apply the "discount", players will need to use the code provided by Bungie after the 15th challenge is down.
Still, it is quite obvious that grinding the 15 triumphs in order to make the shirt available at all is an attempt to make it seem more valuable than it already is. I mean, Destiny 2 fans will want a customisable shirt anyway, does the perceived value really need inflating via in-game challenges?
