Season 23 will be quite the shakeup for the meta in Destiny 2 and here is a list of announced changes so far.
Destiny 2 sandbox will have major shifts in Season 23, which is also the inaugural one for The Final Shape expansion.
Bungie announced quite a few changes to armour and weapons but additional ones will be revealed further down the road, although the devs are revealing only a handful at this time.
In any case, we will keep this article updated when something like that occurs.
Destiny 2 Season 23 armour changes
- Antaeus Wards - Requires full class ability energy to activate. Activation drains class ability energy
- Young Ahamkara's Spine - Gives grenade energy only on final blows, not damage
- Peregrine Greaves will be slower to activate as they will require some airborne time before the perk pops up. Will refund melee energy when used against Champions, Tormentors and mini-bosses
- Synthoceps lose extra range and get better reload speed and weapon handling when surrounded
Destiny 2 Season 23 weapon changes
- SMGs will get more recoil
- Sniper Rifles will have reduced body shot damage in PvP. Will get an overall damage buff in PvE. Increased airborne effectiveness
- Fusion Rifles will get less damage from Kickstart, damage falloff will be steeper
- Slug Shotguns will get better airborne effectiveness
Some of those Exotic nerfs are likely going to cause grief to players, especially Hunters who were happy tossing Tripmines all over the place. Let's hope the new Exotics make up for the losses incurred with these changes.
