EA Sports FC 26’s next big update is out May 28 as The World’s Game Update will bring gameplay adjustments, a new tournament mode, and Ultimate Team content ahead of the summer international tournaments.
The biggest addition from EA is a new international tournament mode coming June 4 that lets players pick from 53 licensed national teams to compete with in a 48-team tournament.
Some of the teams include Brazil, England, France, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can also select from up-and-coming countries like Uzbekistan and Cabo Verde.
The tournament mode drops players into a somewhat-realistic international tournament. Compete in three group-stage matches before moving onto the knockout bracket with a Round of 32.
The top two teams from each group automatically qualify, and the remaining spots are filled by the best third-place teams based on points, goal difference, goals scored, and fair play rankings.
EA will also be adding new stadiums as well including Gillette Stadium and BMO Field. Players will also see Central Maw, a fictional stadium created just for international tournament play.
Along with the new tournament mode, The World’s Game Update will feature gameplay tuning based on community feedback. EA announced the update would touch on PlayStyles and other gameplay adjustments, you can head here for more details.
Ultimate Team will also get Festival of Football content with the addition of a themed Event Hub and Festival campaigns. Simply log into FC 26 between June 5 and July 24 to earn a free 93 OVR Pelé Festival of Football ICON card as well as three “Choose Your Journey” Evolutions.
Kick Off will also be getting new playable national teams with this update, as well as new international tournament challenges throughout the game.
