Bungie over-buffed 120 RPM Hand Cannons at the start of S13 and they are going to pull some of that power back while Shotguns will one nerf but still be the king of close quarters.

Aggressive Frame Hand Cannons used to be one of the worst picks for the primary slot in Destiny 2 PvP but Season 13 gave them way too many buffs, making them push out other weapon archetypes out of viability. One of the reasons was their newfound range that can wreck people at extremely long distances for a primary that's also useful in mid-range and can even two-tap Guardians in some instances.

It is exactly their Range that will be reduced in the next season and depending on how high the stat is on a Hand Cannon, it will become less effective at ranges of two to four metres once the update kicks in. With this change, Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles should get some breathing room during long range engagements and 140 RPM Hand Cannons should have a bit more wiggle room when choosing a primary.

Quickdraw perk will get nerfed overall but it will mostly affect Aggressive Frame Shotguns. These nuisances will no longer be able to have the perk at all and it will be replaced by Surplus on all existing Astral Horizons and Felwinter's Lies.

This change will not sit well with the apes that relied on the perk in the past but it shouldn't be long before they figure out Shotguns will be just as easy to use without it, provided they can check their radar at times and switch weapons accordingly.

In fact, we might be looking at an even more annoying Shotgun meta in the future since everyone will switch to Slideshot on Felwinter's Lie and terrorise Crucible players at ranges longer than before.
