Having to deal with a bunch of trash items in your inventory might get just a tad easier in Destiny 2 when the next expansion launches.
Blue items become largely obsolete in Destiny 2 , as soon as Legendaries start dropping, due to additional modding and perk possibilities. As such, seeing a blue item entering your very limited backpack can be infuriating because it just forces you to do the chore of opening the inventory screen and deconstructing the thing, for the very low pay of an insignificant amount of Glimmer.
That problem should mostly cease to exist when the Witch Queen expansion comes around. The reason for this is that Bungie will boot the blue items from playlist activity rewards, such as the ones from The Crucible, Gambit and Strikes. Keep in mind that enemies and chests you come across might still drop these annoyances but at least we can chain up a bunch of PvP matches without having to worry about blue items wreaking havoc at the Postmaster.
While some would rather see blue items completely removed from the game, Bungie didn't decide whether they will implement such a solution yet. They are still evaluating the place of the blue gear in the Destiny 2 dynamic but these changes will not arrive within the next few seasons.
The current solution may not be perfect but it's certainly a big step in the right direction, as far as the players' emotional wellbeing at the end of a Strike goes.
